Year-End Party

Before the winter vacation comes, we had a year-end party this evening of all the members of the institute, namely 90 members including teachers, researchers, students, and office workers.  Everybody got together.

The party was held in a banquet room in a hotel. A bus was reserved from the institute to the hotel, although I rode my Lamborghini. It was a big dinner over drinks; the general idea of the party is forget bad things that happened during the year.

I have not told anybody about my blog except the American professor, so I just show you foods served, not people present.

Sushi

Sukiyaki before Grilled

Sukiyaki being Grilled

Roast Beef

Fried Chicken with French Potatoes

Chinese Sweet-and-Sour Pork

Fruits

Small Cakes

Many students were there, so the quantity was important. Drinks were all-you-can-drink.

You can enjoy natural hot springs in Kofu.  There was a spa on the highest floor, so after the dinner, we enjoyed it.

Tomorrow is Emperor‘s Birthday, a holiday.  Because partially I am not for the emperor system in Japan, and mostly I am busy, I will do some work tomorrow.

Interesting… I wonder what people thought you were doing taking all the photos of the food?… Then again, it’s pretty common these days to have your own social network pages, so seeing people with cameras everywhere is pretty common.

And it does look particularly oishii… or is that because I woke up at 5am this morning, and haven’t had a bite to eat yet?

Have a productive day today… Christmas is almost upon us. Hope you can finish early and even if you don’t raise a glass to the Emperor, you can at least raise a toast to your fellow blogosphere readers and have some relaxation on the holiday. Perhaps one day we can share a drink together.

I told students that I was going to show photos to Katya. They fully understood.
Foods were very good but not fancy. The quantity was satisfactory to everybody.

I think Emperor is intelligent, thoughtful, and modest. I am respectful to him. I do not think supporting one family by the government is based on the concept of equality, so I am not for the system.

I am having a relaxing day today. I hope we can see each other either in Australia or in Japan.
