Form 9:30 to 17:00, I was at the final presentations of the master degree students. Each talked for 20 minutes with 10-minute Q/A. All did well; they are sure to be graduated.
Tomorrow, the students of our institutes will present their results. We are expecting a party tomorrow evening.
On the way back home, it was snowing. Boy, it will be a big one, for sure. Kofu will be completely covered.
At home, Katya gave me chocolates.
Yes, I remembered. Today is Valentine’s Day. In Japan, girls give boys chocolates, and Katya followed the rule. I will follow another rule and give her something on White Day on March 14.
More importantly, I am not supposed to forget the centennial International Women’s Day on March 8.
We went out for a night walk under the snow.
At home, Maya-san gave me kisses, too.
Ah – Valentines Day… of course every day should be Valentines Day, but if it were, they’d need to invent a new day. Actually, Valentines Day is extra special for us this year as it marks 1 month to go before T-chan and L-kun head out for Japan (then again, White Day is also our wedding anniversary, so that’s a bigger day every year).
I always thought that White Day could be exported as a tradition to the world… and I’m sure the confectionery companies would appreciate it as well.
Hope you’re both over the colds, and fighting fit! Also congrats on the successful presentations from your students. Their lives are about to start their next chapter, and I wish them well!
I am sure all of you are thrilled to come to Japan, and T-chan’s parents, too!
Nothing is comparable to meeting the family.
Exchanging presents on two days, Valentine’s day and White day, can be fun.
Our students did very well. We had a party for them. Of course, everything was on us, happy and proud teachers.
