From Shimosuwa to Hatsushima Island

My parents will take care of Maya-san for two nights. Katya and I left Shimosuwa, heading for  Atami. On the way, we had lunch at Nigiri no Tokube, Gotemba.

After lunch, we drove to Atami, which they call “Monaco in Asia”.

We left Smart in a parking lot and walked to Atami Harbor.

We took a boat “Isle de Vacances III” to Hatsushima Island after she had returned from the island.

It was a trip less than half an hour.

From Hatsushima Harbor, a bus took us to XIV Hatsushima Hotel.

In the evening, we left the hotel and walked to Porto, an Italian restaurant. On the way, we found Mt. Fuji.

We had dinner at Porto.

The foods were simple but very good.  We got really full.

We took a bus back to the hotel.  In the lounge, we had herb tea.

We stay on the 7th floor.  From the 7th, the entrance hall looked neat.

Hmmm – obviously a bit of the story was missing here… i.e. how and/or why you ended up in Shimosuwa (visiting your family I guess), and more importantly how you ended up missing the meeting. Too many questions – but then again, you should keep your private life at least a little bit private.

You’re right – Monaco indeed! Not sure it would have the life-style to live up to that name, but I can see the resemblance. At least from a distance. It does look like a nice place for a couple to get away (if but momentarily) however. Good luck with heat!

I think you are very right, Ben. I took out some lines to make the story straight. Thank you for your advice.
Atami is a good place, if not as fancy as Monaco. We often come to Atami for the beach, which we miss in Kofu.
We are mostly inside this time, but walking out is comfortable on the island with a breeze.
