Aquarium completed and Mandarins arriving

Today is “Coming of Age Day“, a national holiday.

Katya, Maya-san, and i went to “Fish Land Ishihara” in the afternoon and bought three more lambchop rasboras.

So our aquarium contains:

Have we put too many?

After the dinner, a student of mine graduating this March brought me a box of mandarins his parents in Shizuoka gave to us.

They are of the first-class quality. They gave us a lot, but they will vanish in two days.

I don’t think that’s necessarily too many fish… a more important thing is how the fish get along. Quite a few fish don’t get along at all well with some species… we often think of fish as peaceful, beautiful creatures, but alas they can be quite harsh too. Other than that, everything should be just fine if your filter can handle it. I know we used snails to clean the tank (when we had one), but before you knew it, there were almost hundreds of them. Not pleasant at all!… But fishtanks can definitely be fun too.

Goodluck again! Oh – PS…. sorry to hear about the on-going dramas withe Smart, the mini and now the CD recorder. Not a great start to the year…. but on the upside, it is definitely likely to improve!

Fish go very well together, maybe except for meal time, when the big flying foxes try to get the food first.
Filter works, besides, Katya changes a part of the water every week.

Cars will be OK. What should we do with the CD recorder? Maybe we should abandon this old technology now.

The technology is old, but if you think how long vinyl records have been around (and continue to be), you realise that technology dates only as quickly as we want it to.

Well done to Katya… I suspect she’s a much more dedicated fish owner than I ever was.

CDs are still convenient in our life, but probably we can go without them. We will think about it a bit more.

Katya is so dedicated in maintaining the tank. She also really did carry out the inspection about keeping the fish environment with using her friend, iPod, literally everyday and night.
Although she was not trained to be a scientist, she has some talent to be one, I think.
