It is Sunday today. There is a Suntory Winery, “Tomi no Oka” on the hill of Kai City next to Kofu. Katya and I went there for lunch with Mariya. We passed by the winery to the restaurant. There were not so many cars. We walked to the restaurant. At the restaurant, “Wine Terrace“, we took seats outside. Katya and Mariya sat in the shadow under a tree. From the tree, a snake of a meter and a half dropped down by them! The snake was let go, and Katya changed the seat. Katya had fish and I had beef. Eating out under a blue sky was pleasant. … Continue reading
Today was Showa Day, a holiday. Everybody got on the car. First, we went to Nishimatsu Ya, a baby-goods shop. We went there to buy a shade for a baby carriage. Then we dropped by Starbucks to get a cup of coffee for me. Then we went back home. After a quick lunch, all of us got on Smart again to Midorigaoka Sports Park. We started a walk. Katya pushed the carriage and I was taking Maya-san with me. After some while, we switched. We placed Mariya in a chair again to go back home. For dinner, I went to Manpuru Roh again. Today’s dishes were … Continue reading
In the afternoon, Katya, Mariya, Maya-san and I went out for a walk around Takeda Shrine. It was a beautiful day like yesterday. Katya then left with Maya-san home for chores, while Mariya and I kept walking. I looked into her face during the walk, and she was happy for some while. However, Mariya started looking for her mother and became gloomy, so we headed for home together. For dinner, I went to Manpuku Roh to take out fried egg plants and stir-fried shrimp both with chili sauces. They cooked quickly; I only waited for 20 min. I like Chinese dishes for their convenience, not to mention the tastes. Katya and I … Continue reading
In the morning, I brought a full pot of curry to the institute’s dining room by mini, and put it in the refrigerator. After my English lesson, I started a curry party in the dining room. I invited nine students, including the Chinese student from France, and one young researcher not yet married. I had asked students to buy some drinks and nan at New Mahal. The party started after 6:30 PM. It was a pleasant dinner with a lot of conversation. They seemed to enjoyed the curry. It is a pity I forgot to take pictures. Maybe I will make them chili in winter.
Today is Constitution Day. I worked in the morning. At 3:30 PM, we left for Shimosuwa with Russian soup, salad, and Chili. We arrived at my parents’ before dinner. Anju, my sister’s dog, was there to welcome us. Mom prepared a wooden tub of sushi rice with a variety of ingredients sprinkled on. It became a big dinner. Maya-san was enviously watching us.
Katya, Maya-san, and I are planning to see my parents tomorrow. The day after tomorrow, Katya and I will leave for Hatsushima (sorry, Maya-san. Have a buffet time in Shimosuwa with my parents). So I continuously worked. Tomorrow morning, I will work, and this is it. Even, in the evening, I cooked chili con carne, which we will bring to my parents’. Katya will bring some Russian dishes, too.
Today is the 78th birthday of Japanese Emperor, a holiday. Although I am against Emperor system, I admit that he is intelligent and thoughtful. He was suffered from mycoplasma pneumonia this year, and still seems to be weak. Emperor is at my father’s age and Queen, at my mother’s. Hope he will be fine soon. In the late morning, we had brunch at Gusto. I had chicken cutlets and Katya, Caesar salad and a piece of pizza. In the afternoon, we were relaxed at home. I took Maya-san out for a walk. Then we played tennis for one and a half hour at Yamanashi Prefectural Youth Center. Then we went again … Continue reading
In the morning on the way to my office, I took a picture of cherry blossoms almost ending. New green leaves appear to tell summer is coming closer. Yes, the temperature went up to 25 C today. I could have gone with a T-shirt. Katya was asked to come to her Ukrainian friend’s house in Shimosuwa. The friend bought a Belgium Shepherd, the first doggy friend in her life. It is still a baby boy and very active. He seems friendly, but she does not know how to treat him. So Katya went to help her. I came back alone for lunch to find Maya-san having had a small party. … Continue reading
It was cold last night. I had a slight cold. In the morning, we found the first snow in Kofu, 5 mm in depth. So we lazily got up late and stayed home except for Maya-san’s walks. After the breakfast, I started cooking chili, which I was not able to do yesterday. I took enough time to prepare today. It was a success. Nothing can be complained. We both took three bowls. We got so full.
Today’s Saturday. Katya went to see her friend in Minami Alps city, while I worked. I the morning, I felt I had a cold. At 5 PM, I was finishing my work, when a Ph. D. student came to my office with a confused look. He is to take the oral Ph. D. dissertation on Monday, but he was not confident. So, we went to a hall for a rehearsal. We commented on some points. It finished after 7 PM. I was planning to cook chili this evening but had no time now. Katya waited for me at Gusto and I joined her. I think he will be OK on … Continue reading
