On a Sunday Morning, Katya and I went to Gusto for breakfast as ususal. I read a newspaper and Katya a book. Katya, Maya-san, and I drove to “Doryu Waterfall” in Kiyosato. The green was very fresh in early summer. The fall is not big, but the water streams are delicately separated as if into thin white strings running down. “Waterfalls breathed out by dragon” is an adequate name. Katya got closer to the falls. The air was very fresh. Maya-san has changed in the nature; she looked more serious, relaxing, and independent. After visiting the falls, we dropped by “Kiyosato no Mori” park, too. We came home. … Continue reading

Lake Inagako, KFC, Aquarium project
Kofu was very warm. In the morning, it was 24 degree c. Katya and I went to buy packs of coffee and some biscuits at Coffee Tonya. In the afternoon, we went to Lake Inagako. Much cooler at 14 degree C. The leaves are falling down. Autumn is ending. Maya-san dug holes as usual. However, the moles seemed to have gone. On the way back home, we stopped by at a KFC to take lunch out. Christmas is getting closer. We then fetched some water plants at Pet Field for Katya’s aquarium project. After having a late KFC lunch at home, Katya planted the plants in a tank. … Continue reading

In Kofu on Saturday, March 20, people play tennis
After breakfast, Katya and I went out to play tennis. High school kids were playing tennis, too. The highest temperature was 20 C today, so we played in T-shirts. It was nice to move our bodies. After tennis, we dropped by at Coffee Tonya. There was enough supply, as people might not be interested in keeping coffee. I ordered a cup of caffe macchiato to go and bought Bailey’s chocolates and Brazilian candies. For preparing dinner, I went to Ogino supermarket. Food supply was normal, except for dairy products, because of the radioactivity found in milk produced in Fukushima. I made spaghetti for dinner. We had the wine given at … Continue reading

Warm Winter Sunday
On weekend mornings, Maya-san usually takes a walk with me. There is a place where Maya-san likes to sniff around. She never found anything, but probably, small animals, like rats, play there. Although mountains over there are covered with snow, it was a very warm day. Maya-san likes narrow streets. When she walks, she always searches something interesting. After the walk, Katya and I had breakfast at Jonathan’s in Kofu. Maya-san kept the apartment all by herself. We bought coffees and teas at Coffee Tonya. We had cups of espresso while coffees are ready to be taken out. Then, Katya and I went out for tennis. It was a perfect … Continue reading

Shopping
Today is Coming-of-Age Day, a national holiday. We went to Coffee Tonya to buy coffee, tea, and sweats. We had dinner at New Mahal. We went to D2 DIY shop and bought some pieces of wood to make a new shelf. We put Katya’s Beetle and an ivy pot. We even played tennis between 7 and 9 PM. Katya and I fully dressed up for winter tennis. It was about 3 C, but there was no wind and we enjoyed it.

Colored-Leaf Safari
In order (for Katya) to take good pictures of colored leaves this autumn, we went on a leaf safari on mini. Unfortunately it was cloudy all day, but we ventured. 1. Lake Inagako This is Katya’s third visit to Inagako this fall. Maya-san started digging holes, and I watched her. Katya took pictures alone 2. Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park Maya-san and I were eating a baked sweat potato on a bench in a parking area of the visitor center. Katya took pictures alone. 3. Shosenkyo We got there at 4 PM. The leaves were so beautiful but we did not have enough light at this time of the day in autumn. … Continue reading
