We checked out the hotel around 11 AM after having breakfast. With all the goods bought in Odaiba packed in, I started driving Smart with Katya and Mariya on the back seat. We took a highway through downtown Tokyo. The traffic was smooth. The sky was blue. Today is Constitution Day, a holiday. Traffic jams from Tokyo were expected. Therefore, after driving through downtown, we got off Chuo Freeway at Inagi to avoid a jam. I found a newly-opened convenience store, Lawson, so I decided to take a break there. Ponta, the Lawson mascot, was helping the opening of the store. I took a coffee, Mariya got surrounded by toys, … Continue reading

It was already getting darker. A shuttle bus took us to a hotel, Grand XIV Hatsushima Club. The room was assigned on the sixth floor. From 6:30 PM, we had dinner at an Italian restaurant, Porto. Mariya was with us, … Continue reading

Today is Respect-for-the Aged Day, a holiday. We checked out and left the hotel after 10 AM. We headed for Gotemba Premium Outlets for shopping. On Hakone Pass on the way to the shopping center, there was a fog. Katya sees better than I, so we changed drivers and Katya started driving. We arrived at the outlet mall safely. After we finished shopping, a rain started, so we had snacks at Fauchon’s. Breads are very good there. After we had sandwiches and drinks, it stopped raining. A bus took us to the parking lot from the mall. From the parking lot, we drove back to Shimosuwa to say a … Continue reading

I am waiting for a cancellation at GRAND XIV Hatsushima Club. However, it is not very probable. Probably, I should give up and stay for two nights in Hotel Ito Powell.
Today is Marine Day, a national holiday. I took a double espresso before a long drive, while Katya was busy packing. It was more than a double, which woke me up. Yes, it was a nice stay in Toba.
