I woke up at 7 AM in the morning. I have no work today. I walked around Hilton Hawaiian Village. There was a tiny zoo in the hotel. I saw penguins in the pool. I walked out to the beach (for the first time in this trip). I went into a small restaurant to have breakfast. After breakfast, I walked by the beach to see Diamond Head. I walked in the water, too. Then I walked back to the hotel. This was all my vacation this time. I packed my bags, checked out, and left Hilton at 11 PM. It took 30 min to the airport. After the … Continue reading
It is Saturday today. There was an annual meeting of the owners of the Shibakoen apartment. It started in Shinjuku at 1 PM. We discussed the reduction of the managing costs of the building. It ended at 2:30 PM. I managed to take an express to Kofu leaving at 3 PM. I arrived at Kofu station at 4:30 PM. I walked to the institute for working.
During the lunch time, I went to a lost-and-found at Kofu station about the doughnuts I had left in the train last evening. The doughnuts are at the last stop of the train and will be delivered to us. I signed the document showing my ID, and left the station. In the afternoon, there was a party in a French restaurant, “Sadoya” for celebrating the the success of the workshop held early August It started at 6 PM and ended after 8 PM. Sadoya is a winery, too, and I drank much wine. After coming back home, Katya was a bit amazed by my being so drunk.
I went to Muza Kawasaki in Kawasaki for a scientific meeting. The meeting started at 2 PM and ended at 6 PM. From Kawasaki, I took trains to Shinjuku station, where I took an express train to Kofu. At Shinjuku station, I bought doughnuts for Katya. The price was 990 yen for four, so they should be good. As my presentation went well, I took a can of beer on the train and got relaxed. On the way back home, Katya and Maya-san came to see me. Then, I realized that I left my doughnuts in the train! I called to the lost-and-found. They found them. I will go to Kofu … Continue reading
In the morning, I joined a meeting for the preparation of the specification of a new instrument. At 11 AM, I left the institute for Tokyo. At 2 PM, I arrived at Hongo, where I attended a publication meeting of a scientific society. We discussed till 4:30 PM. Then I had dipping doodles for late lunch at “Tsukemen Masaki“. The taste was delicate but not impressive. I moved to Honancho for an extraordinary real-estate meeting to introduce a new “electronic” electric breaker to reduce the electricity cost. It was accepted to install the breaker to the apartment in Nakaochiai. The meeting ended at 7 PM. I rushed to Shinjuku Station … Continue reading
Katya called me from Narita Airport before 3 PM. She safely arrived back. She said she was going to take a bus to Kofu leaving at 4:20 PM. At 8 PM, Maya-san and I picked up Katya at Kofu Station. Wasn’t Maya-san excited! Katya looked very healthy and stronger than when she had left Kofu in the mid of the heat. Oh, I was glad to see her smile. It was a short trip but it was worth for her. Katya brought chocolates. Chocolates in Russia is delicate and good. Katya also brought a bottle of kvass. I had kvass when I first visited her in Vladivostok. The taste reminded … Continue reading
Today is Saturday. I took a bike to Kofu Station for taking a train to Tokyo; I was going to talk with a company man about a new electrical leakage breaker, which should decrease the electricity cost of the apartment in Nakaochiai. I took a train starting at 12:11 PM. I had bought a hamburger “Le Grand” at McDonald’s. ”Le Grand“ is a Frenchy hamburger based on “Le M” sold in France. I tried it on the train. It was not for me. I did not like the bans and sausage. I prefer Big Mac. I arrived in “Ichigaya” at 2 PM. I met the guy and talked for 30 min in … Continue reading
In the morning, I took Maya-san out for a walk while Katya was preparing for the departure. I drove Katya to Kofu station. Maya-san was not with us because Katya did not want to let her down. We took breakfast together at “Vie de France“. Then, Katya took a bus to Narita airport. We said good-bye on the cell phone around 4:30 PM, and Katya left for Vladivostok. I took Maya-san for an evening walk at 6 PM. It became cooler, but after the walk, Maya-san asked a shower to cool her down. Katya safely arrived in Vladivostok. We talked on skype; I was able to listen to Katya clearly, … Continue reading
It was again a hot day in Kofu. Katya is leaving for Vladivostok tomorrow. This afternoon, we went to Kofu station to buy a bus ticket to Narita. Katya showed me how to feed fish and how to change water in the tank. She also told me how to water roses. She was busy packing. Maya-san watched Katya and understood she is leaving. Maya-san became sad.
It is Saturday today. In the morning, there were presentations by eleven students of the first year of graduate courses. The meeting continued till noon. Two of my students talked, and they did well. Right after the presentations, I went to Kofu Station to take trains for Honancho, Suginami, Tokyo, where was held an annual meeting of the owners of the apartment in Nakaochiai; I am representative of the owners association. In advance of the meeting, the managing company and I had discussed the topics of the meeting and sent the proxy statement to the owners. At the meeting today, I was the only one who came to the meeting; the other … Continue reading
