Taking photos and dinner together
In the afternoon, I went to Kofu station to pick up my parents, who came to see Mariya and to go to the shrine with us. Very unfortunately, it started raining. The rain was not so heavy, but we did not want Mariya to get cold. So we decided not to go to the shrine. In our apartment, we dressed up Mariya white for taking pictures in the studio. Mom bought her a new kimono. A van came to our apartment, and all of us except Maya-san got it on to the studio with the new red kimono for Mariya with us. At the studio, many pictures were taken. I will … Continue reading

Marsh in Mt. Nyukasa
We had breakfast at my parents’ second house, returned the key to Mom, and left Shimosuwa. We headed for Fujimi Panarama Resort in Fujimi, Nagano. When we got there, there were outdoor jazz concerts. Last time, we took a gondola to the top of Mt. Nyukasa, while this time, we tried a free bus ride for visitors. It took 40 minutes to the apex station by bus on a very narrow road. Sort of scary. We hiked around the marsh on the mountain. There were many highland flowers. We enjoyed a very good climate. On the way back down, there were many people waiting for the bus. We had to make a … Continue reading

Second house of my parents in Shimosuwa
It has been hot in Kofu. Katya and I (and possibly Maya-san) need some moderate weather. My parents happened to buy a small house in their town Shimosuwa from my aunt living in Tokyo; her husband passed away, and the family does not use their villa anymore. My parents reformed it and let us stay this weekend. After my Saturday job, we left our apartment at 5:30 PM. On the way to my parents’, we took a walk with Maya-san. We arrived at my parents’ at 7:30 PM. After dinner, Mom led us to the house by car. The house was built 40 years ago, but it was clean with … Continue reading
Back from Toba on Monday, July 16, 2012
Today is Marine Day, a national holiday. I took a double espresso before a long drive, while Katya was busy packing. It was more than a double, which woke me up. Yes, it was a nice stay in Toba. Katya and I checked out the hotel at 10:30 AM. I drove and only stopped twice. We arrive at my parents’ at 3:50 PM. Maya-san was thrilled to see us! After we took a rest, Mom prepare a meal. We had it and left for Kofu with Maya-san. Katya drove this time. We arrived home at 6:30 PM. It was a long journey back home. We all are tired as well … Continue reading
Vegetables from Dad
My dad is an amateur farmer. He is 78 years old and still rents a farm to cultivate vegetables and fruits. Today, he sent us a box of vegetables. Mom put descriptions of how to cook them in case Katya does not know the vegetable. The refrigerator is filled with them.
