No mails at school
Our mailing system for the teachers and the office workers (only) in the university was somewhat tied up. I worked all day without an e-mail, which was weird; I was nervous whether I miss some important information. I was invited to give a talk for company managers and engineers in Shimosuwa, my hometown. I asked my parents if they wanted to come, but they hesitated. Anyway, I started working on the presentation, which requires no internet connection. It will be a two-hour talk for non-specialists, my first experience in my life.

Taking photos and dinner together
In the afternoon, I went to Kofu station to pick up my parents, who came to see Mariya and to go to the shrine with us. Very unfortunately, it started raining. The rain was not so heavy, but we did not want Mariya to get cold. So we decided not to go to the shrine. In our apartment, we dressed up Mariya white for taking pictures in the studio. Mom bought her a new kimono. A van came to our apartment, and all of us except Maya-san got it on to the studio with the new red kimono for Mariya with us. At the studio, many pictures were taken. I will … Continue reading

Saturday evening
It is Saturday today. Usually, I work in my office until 7 PM. Today, however, I came back home at 3 PM after going to see a doctor for my nose. With Maya-san and Mariya, Katya and I went out for a walk together for the second time. Then Katya went out alone for shopping and a haircut; Mariya’s first visit to the shrine is scheduled for tomorrow, after one month of her birth, and my parents are coming for it. I was playing with Mariya while Katya was out. After a couple of hours, Mariya seemed uneasy and started crying. I understood that she was hungry. I started making … Continue reading
Mom and Dad coming to Kofu and Mariya’s spoon
Right after her birth, my parents naturally wanted to meet Mariya. Today’s Sunday and they are coming to Kofu by train. I arrived at Kofu station at 11 AM. In the department store “Eclan” by the station, I looked for something for lunch. I bought two large packs of take-out sushi at Kyodaru. There is a wine shop, and I bought a bottle of Kofu wine for my parents and one non-alcoholic for me and Katya. I left sushi and wine bottles in the car, and went to the ticket gate of the station to see my parents. There was a campaign of Aizu district in Fukushima to invite tourists. … Continue reading

From Izu to Shimosuwa to Kofu
Today is Respect-for-the Aged Day, a holiday. We checked out and left the hotel after 10 AM. We headed for Gotemba Premium Outlets for shopping. On Hakone Pass on the way to the shopping center, there was a fog. Katya sees better than I, so we changed drivers and Katya started driving. We arrived at the outlet mall safely. After we finished shopping, a rain started, so we had snacks at Fauchon’s. Breads are very good there. After we had sandwiches and drinks, it stopped raining. A bus took us to the parking lot from the mall. From the parking lot, we drove back to Shimosuwa to say a … Continue reading

First day of the trip to Ito, Izu peninsula
It is Saturday today. In the morning, I was attending a meeting, in which our master-grade students presented their research results obtained in half a year, while Katya took Maya-san to Shimosuwa by Smart. She left Maya-san to my parents and drove back home. We met at our apartment and left together for Ito city in Izu peninsula. On the way to Ito, we first dropped by the central post office in Kofu to receive the doughnuts, which had delivered home while we were out. Then we drove all the way to Hotel Ito Powell, an old hotel by the sea. We arrived at 5 PM. The room on the … Continue reading

Rain in Hokkaido, Tohoku, and Kofu
My parents have come back from a five-day trip around Hokkaido and Tohoku. They did not take planes but took trains all the way. I called my mother on the phone. They seemed to have enjoyed the trip. Unfortunately, it was raining during their whole trip, she said. In the evening in Kofu, it started raining cats and dogs. When I was about to leave the office back home, the rain stopped, so I rode a bike. It started raining again on the way back home. I got all wet.
Fiore walk and Yumura Hotel buffet
From the second house of my parents, we went to a flower park “FIORE KOBUCHISAWA” in Hokuto city. It was a good place for Maya-san to walk around. Then we went back home. In the evening, Katya and I had buffet at Yumura Hotel. There was a pianist playing in the restaurant. It was a cozy atmosphere inside. As usual, the dishes were simple but of fresh and good ingredients. We enjoy the dinner very much. Maya-san welcomed us at the apartment. We watched TV together.

Fireworks by Lake Suwa
Today is Saturday. Katya and I had lunch at Jonathan’s. Then, I went back to my office to work. In the evening, Katya drove me and Maya-san to my parents’. There was a firework competition by Lake Suwa. We saw them in the sky on the highway. After arriving there, I climbed up the roof to take pictures of fireworks. Then we moved to the second house. It was cool on the mountain.
Shinjuku and Shimosuwa
I left Kofu at 12:12 PM for a real estate meeting held in Shinjuku, Tokyo. It was a hot day even at the end of August. The meeting ended at 3:30 PM. I took a train to Shimosuwa leaving at 4 PM. Katya. on the other hand, left Kofu with Maya-san by Smart to Shimosuwa. We met at my parents’ at 7 PM. Then, all of us headed for their second house. Katya left the house for her Russian friend’s. Maya-san is waiting for her.
