Night Tennis on Sunday (as usual)
Today, pollen was flowing all around Kofu. In the morning, Katya and I watched “Dog Whisperer” over breakfast. We think that Ceser Millan sometimes simply makes Jack a dull dog, but this morning, I found that there are many things I can learn from him. In the afternoon, Katya and I went to buy a new washing machine; an ex-student of mine gave me a washing machine nearly 20 years ago, which has been still working. Recently, the spin-drying does not working well, so we decided to buy one. We chose a SANYO. I am sorry for the company, which was producing good products but was integrated into Panasonic. I … Continue reading

Kuonji Temple in Mt. Minobu
Katya and I had breakfast in Starbucks. Katya had a venti cappuccino and I, a tall cafe latte. Milk was fully supplied in there. We felt pollen. My skin was itchy. By mini, three of us visited Kuonji Temple in Mt. Minobu established by Nichiren. It took one and a half hours from the apartment. On the way out from Kofu, we felt less pollen. We did not expect the temples so big. The temples are surrounded by woods. Some cherry blossoms were already in bloom, but the best season has not come yet. Katya is planning to visiting it again on a weekday.
Surviving Allergy
After I took a pill last night after dinner over a glass of wine, I fell deep asleep. I woke up midnight; I started working on the tax report. I stayed up all night. In the morning, after taking a shower, Katya and I went to Starbucks for breakfast. I used a complimentary coupon. I ordered a venti caramel macchiato (because it is free!) and Katya, a short espresso and a tall cappuccino. We had wraps, a sandwich, and a scone. After breakfast, we went to play tennis for two hours. Surprisingly, I did not feel any allergy. The medicine, not only having made me sleepy, keeps me from feeling … Continue reading

smart needs repaired
I went to my office in the morning to reserve the train tickets on the web for the American professor. Then I first went to Kofu station to buy them and to Konaya Hotel to pick the professor up. We had our last talk in Starbucks, and he left Kofu to Tokyo, Narita, and to the US. He will be back to Japan in September for conferences. Katya has been talking about the malfunctioning of smart these days. She suspected that it was because of the battery getting weak. Katya and Maya-san took smart and I, mini, to Super Autobacs, an automobile shop. It has been quite a while since … Continue reading

Photography on a snowy mountain
It was a beautiful morning. Unfortunately, Katya was not completely recovered from the cold. I sneezed, too. We decided not to go skiing. We had breakfast at Starbucks. On the way home, we dropped by at a drug store and bought some medicines, as well as packs of powdered ginger drink (ginger powder, unrefined sugar, and starch to be dissolved in hot water) and bottles of energy drink. We had both of them at home. Although we would not go skiing, Katya wanted to take pictures on a snowy mountain. I thought it was a good idea. Maya-san agreed, who hates low temperature but likes to walk on the snow. … Continue reading

Grown-ups drink large coffee
A student finished his oral presentation. He spoke too slowly to finish it within his time given, accordingly, no question time left. But he did his best, too. I have a jet lag and keep going to a coffee shop near the conference halls. They have large and small coffee. I think this menu matches with this hotel. I go to Starbucks. They serve good coffee. The coffee cup, now used in this coffee shop, too, is a good invention. I like Starbucks’ coffee. I sometimes order fancy stuffs, too. But don’t you think it a kind of childish to order a caramel Macchiato with whip cream on top (this … Continue reading
