Tiring Sunday by cleaning up around the apartments
I normally wake up late on Sunday mornings, but today, before 7 AM as usual, because there was scheduled a clean-up around the apartments by the residents themselves; there are a lot of these occasions in Japan. The cleaning started at 8 AM. We cleaned the ditch and took off weeds. We made up piles of bags filled with weeds. I took a shower again. For lunch, we walked down Takeda Street. We arrived at a Nepali restaurant, “New Mahal“, where Katya took a ladies’ set and I a lunch buffet. Mariya was a good girl as usual. I wish that the buffet curries were more spicy. After coming … Continue reading

Seminar and meeting in Tokyo
I continued copying and pasting. At 2 AM, a mail arrived from a Mexican friend working for a French university; he invited me to the defense of his Chinese PhD student, and the date of defense was decided on September 18th. So I will visit France in September. I finished the report at 4 AM. I uploaded the file to a free storage site and sent the url to the governmental institute asking to download it to check. I came back home, took Maya-san for a morning walk, and left for Tokyo for a seminar of a graphic software I am using. I slept in the train. I got off … Continue reading

Resort Outlets Yatsugatake
All of us went to “Resort Outlet Yatsugatake“. It was cloudy today, and there were not so many people. Maya-san had some fun in the dog run. Then we had lunch at an Italian restaurant “Lo Scoiattolo“. Dishes were good as usual for the price. Mariya and Maya-san were waiting by us. I had a slight cold and my eye hurt because of a lens, so I stayed in the car with Maya-san while Katya was shopping with Mariya. It started raining. Katya drove us home. For dinner, I cooked Szechuan Sesame Hot Noodles. After dinner, I started cooking Chinese roast pork using a pressure cooker. The pork … Continue reading

Sunday shopping
In the afternoon, Katya, Mariya and I went out for shopping leaving Maya-san home. We dropped at a public parking lot to see roses around the fences. Then we went to an au shop, a telephone company to talk about my broken iPhone; there is no AppleStore in Kofu. I had called to Apple, and the operator told me that with the number he gave me, I was able to borrow an iPhone at any au shop. The man at the au shop told me that he knew nothing about this system and that he could not do anything for me. Nothing can I do, either. I have to call … Continue reading

Tokube with Mariya
Katya sent me an e-mail telling that Nishikori was beaten by Andujar in Madrid Open yesterday. In the evening, Katya, Mariya and I went to a Sushi restaurant, “Nigiri no Tokube” in Shikishima. It was rainy. Katya was holding Mariya in her arms in the restaurant. Mariya was mainly playing with a small soy-sauce saucer. We had many plates of sushi. Mariya had been a very good girl in the restaurant as usual.

After holidays
Today’s Tuesday. School started. I have two classes on Tuesday, so I did not go back for lunch. When I was back home in the evening, Mariya was playing with Anpanman my parents gave her. He is made so as to right himself when knocked over, but Mariya does not play with him this way yet. These days, Mariya is interested in Maya-san, too.
May 6, 2013: Holiday in lieu
Yesterday, it was Sunday and Children’s Day; therefore, today is a holiday in lieu. While Katya did chores around the house in the morning, I took Mariya to Takeda Shrine. It is only a fifteen-minute walk from our apartment. We walked up Takeda Street. We passed across the bridge over the moat around the shrine. We went up the stone steps to pass the outer entrance. A pair of stone dogs guard the shrine at the entrance. We proceeded to the inner entrance. On the left was a well for purifying hands (you can drink water, too). We arrived at the inner gate to the front shrine. People were praying. … Continue reading

Back with Maya-san to Kofu
Today is Greenery Day. I wanted to get up late, but woke up at 5 AM because of the paper screen used in the room, which let the sun light in. I had breakfast with my parents. Katya decided not to come because of Mariya being tired after the trip. With Maya-san, I drove by Lake Suwa. On the way, I dropped by a rest area “Shinshu Tsutakijuku“. I took a bowl of Soba noodle. There was a small garden behind. On the riverside, people were camping. Maya-san is a hole digger. I bought a bottle of apple juice, a cheese cake, and blueberry jam for Katya. After … Continue reading

Back from Odaiba
We checked out the hotel around 11 AM after having breakfast. With all the goods bought in Odaiba packed in, I started driving Smart with Katya and Mariya on the back seat. We took a highway through downtown Tokyo. The traffic was smooth. The sky was blue. Today is Constitution Day, a holiday. Traffic jams from Tokyo were expected. Therefore, after driving through downtown, we got off Chuo Freeway at Inagi to avoid a jam. I found a newly-opened convenience store, Lawson, so I decided to take a break there. Ponta, the Lawson mascot, was helping the opening of the store. I took a coffee, Mariya got surrounded by toys, … Continue reading

Second day in Odaiba, May 2, 2012
Mariya woke up and up during the midnight, but we survived. We went to breakfast at Georgetown. Mariya behaved nicely as usual. Very fortunately, it was fine today in the morning. I took a picture of Katya and Mariya in front of Tokyo Bay Ariake Washington Hotel, where we stay in. Then we started walking to the center of Odaiba. Katya knows Odaiba well. She took us to Aqua City Odaiba. We looked around shops inside. Mariya was becoming tires, so we had a quick lunch at Burger KING. After lunch, I started holding Mariya in front of me. We took Yurikamome Line to go back to the … Continue reading
