Blogs I like

In the morning from 9 to 12 AM, I discussed with a student of mine, who has been building up a new measurement system.  He is having good data these days.  We had a long and fruitful discussion. I had a protein bar for lunch. From 1 to 2:30 PM, we had a scientific meeting in a group. From 2:45 to 4:15 PM, I taught students about digital circuits. I had a cup-o-rice soup for my second lunch. Then I started writing a paper.  I want to finish it soon. I left the lab at 8 PM and had a good Spanish soup Katya made. We went out for a … Continue reading

Hakone, Hatsushima, Snorkeling

It was a pleasant morning with a pleasant breeze.  I took these photos from the windows of our room. After having breakfast, we left Resorpia Hakone for Atami port. We took a boat to Hatsushima island. For taking a boat to Hatsushima, I used free tickets for stock holders, which I had purchased at the Yahoo auction. We arrived at XIV Hatsushima Club hotel at 1 PM. The room was not available yet, so we had refreshments at the lounge to relax for a while. We had lunch at an Italian restaurant, “Porto“. In XIV Hatsushima Club, they give us 50%-discount coupons for lunch, and we took the advantage. We … Continue reading

Preventing cold

I worked in rain.  Katya treated my respiratory system in a Russian way by vapor containing herbes such as liquorice, sage, eucalyptus, marigold, and camomile (Katya told me). One. Two. Three. Four. Five.

Just a small tip about Famima T-Card, if you are a point collector

You could easily get a Famima T-card at Family Mart, a convenience store. No annual fees are needed for this credit card. Gusto only accepts cash, but with showing the Famima T-card, they put T-points on it. T-points can also be obtained at TSUTAYA, a rental CD/DVD shop.  At some gas stations, T-points are given, too, even you pay with cash.  Or, you can use a credit card for the payment to get points or miles on the card, and T-points as well by showing your Famima T-card.  T-points can be converted to ANA miles, and this is why I am collecting T-points. The largest advantage of this card might … Continue reading

Shinjuku (Shopping), Shibuya (Business), Makuhari (Hotel)

I took a bus from Kofu to Shinjuku.  Railway system is reliable, but taking a bus costs less. At MAUI, Shinjuku, one of the biggest diving shop in Japan, I bought two pairs of gloves and a pair of shoes for me and Katya for snorkeling next month. I then moved to Shibuya for a discussion of a new contract with a real estate agent. I changed trains to Makuhari, Chiba, taking the cheapest route according to Yahoo.  I checked in “APA Hotel & Resort, TOKYO BAY MAKUHARI“.  They say it is the tallest hotel in Japan. APA hotel group offers reasonable stays at moderate prices.  Their conservative political  policy … Continue reading

How to save money at a sushi restaurant

Katya and I are regular customers of a sushi chain-restaurant by Kofu, “Nigiri no Tokube“, with a rotational belt for sushi plates, not very expensive, but not too much “automated”. At the restaurant, Thursday’s a tuna day (tuna is our favorite as of everybody), and all tuna plates are cheap.  Plus, on the 19th, they give customers a 19% discount coupon, which is valid within a month.  Today is Thursday the 19th, so why not go? Everybody knows sushi, so instead of sharing our pleasure this evening, I give you tips to save money. When the payment came, the price  was  4,084 yen.  I showed an internet coupon printed out at home.  That … Continue reading
