Hakone, Hatsushima, Snorkeling

It was a pleasant morning with a pleasant breeze.  I took these photos from the windows of our room.

After having breakfast, we left Resorpia Hakone for Atami port.

We took a boat to Hatsushima island.

For taking a boat to Hatsushima, I used free tickets for stock holders, which I had purchased at the Yahoo auction.

We arrived at XIV Hatsushima Club hotel at 1 PM. The room was not available yet, so we had refreshments at the lounge to relax for a while.

We had lunch at an Italian restaurant, “Porto“. In XIV Hatsushima Club, they give us 50%-discount coupons for lunch, and we took the advantage.

We checked in 10 minutes before 3 PM.  The room is on the 7th floor.  You can see a good view of a garden from the window.

Then, we went to a 4-m-deep diving pool for an experimental diving lesson.  Katya once tried the lesson in the same hotel but could not dive that time, so she tried it again.  She was OK this time; she might try diving in the ocean next summer.

We walked to a beach for snorkeling.  It is a rocky beach, and we had some trouble getting into the ocean.

We saw many fish.  Sorry the photos are not clear.  I put my camera in a plastic bag to take these photos. The fish we saw were more for eating than for watching with dark colors.

The water was warm, and we did not feel cold out of the water, either.

Snorkeling is fun.  We only went for snorkeling twice this year, but next year, we should try more.

We walked back to the hotel and took an onsen on the 8th floor. It was dark and we could not see outside.

Then we had a buffet dinner.

This is a view of the central hall taken in front of our room.

It was a busy day.  I was taking a rest in bed and suddenly fell into sleep.

Beautiful. On our last trip to Tokyo (in August) we were almost going to go to Hakone – but the weather forecast was not so good (so we stayed in the city instead). Really want to see the area, as well as Fujigoko region as well.

Hakone can be refreshing. Driving and hiking is nice. It is also a dog-friendly area, so we once stayed with our dog in Hakone.

Fujigoko area is beautiful, too. Have you climbed Mt. Fuji, Ben? When my brother-in-law visited Kofu from Vladivostok, we climbed it together. It is a good memory, but I will not do it again!! The paths are rocky and sandy with no flowers. Yes, I had a feeling of accomplishment, but I did not enjoy the climb itself.

Even though, if you have not tried, it is worth.
