Second day in Toba on Sunday, July 15, 2012
Katya and I had a buffet breakfast at “ARAGOSTA“. We sat by the window. We had a buffet because Katya wanted to have a big salad. However, I do not recommend this buffet because of a low quality. After breakfast, we walked to “Thermaison” for spa and esthétique. It is a big spa. The quality of water was very good. I felt my skin got smooth. Katya enjoyed esthétique treatments. Then we drove to Chidorigahama Beach, the biggest beach in Mie prefecture. I do not complain, but Katya did not like the tetrapod constructions in the sea to prevent waves. So we took off the beach. We drove up … Continue reading →

Shimosuwa to Hatsushima on Greenery Day、May 4, 2012
Katya and I left Shimosuwa to Hatsushima at 8:30 AM, leaving Maya-san with my parents. The weather was pleasant, and we enjoyed driving. However, it did not last forever. We were caught in a traffic jam. The jam lasted for several tens of minutes. To save time, we bought light lunch at 7-Eleven. We hurried to Atami Harbor. The boat leaves for Hatsushima Harbor at 2:10 PM. We barely made it a couple of minutes before the departure. In Hatsushima Island, we always stay in Grand XIV Hatsushima Club Hotel. Our room was assigned on the 7th floor up the entrance of the hotel. Before dinner starting at 8 … Continue reading →

Tokyo Stay – January 1, 2012, the Last Day
After celebrating the new year, we exchanged presents. Katya gave me a winter scarf and an ear warmer. I gave Katya a pair of gloves I bought in Odaiba yesterday. Then we went to sleep. In the morning, the hotel provided everyone with Sake. Other than that, there was nothing for celebrating a new year, which was a pity. Strings Tokyo has good rooms and spaces, but it seems to me that they lack a simple hospitality. It should be more of a hotel for businessmen. We checked out and went to Shinjuku to hang around. Then we visited my parents to celebrate a new year’s day together. The trains … Continue reading →
Arriving in Boston
In the plane from Narita, I slept; luckily, they did not have an on-demand video system on board. I arrived first in Detroit. I took lunch there. Then I took a tram to the South Terminal in the airport. I took a plane to Boston from the terminal. I slept in the plane, too. After arriving in Boston, I took a taxi to the hotel, Westin Boston Waterfront, where the conference will be held. The room was old but clean. In the bath room, there is only a shower with no bath tab. I wish there were a bath tab only for today. After taking a shower, I … Continue reading →
