Sunday shopping
In the afternoon, Katya, Mariya and I went out for shopping leaving Maya-san home. We dropped at a public parking lot to see roses around the fences. Then we went to an au shop, a telephone company to talk about my broken iPhone; there is no AppleStore in Kofu. I had called to Apple, and the operator told me that with the number he gave me, I was able to borrow an iPhone at any au shop. The man at the au shop told me that he knew nothing about this system and that he could not do anything for me. Nothing can I do, either. I have to call … Continue reading

Buffet Lunch, Shosenkyo Walk, and Noah Vet Clinic on Sunday
For lunch, we decided to try a buffet in Kofu Fujiya Hotel. Katya and I, together and separately, had gone to have a Chinese buffet before, which was satisfactory. The Chinese buffet was ended, and the buffet changed into a mixture of Japanese, Chinese, and Western. The buffet was held at “Vent Vert“. We arrived at 11:50 AM. It was so crowded inside. We were directed to a private room. The room was assigned to us not because we are VIPs but there was no room left. The place was far from the buffet tables. The foods were not the first class but acceptable. However, the atmosphere was bad; … Continue reading

Walk, Concert, Buffet on Sunday
Today is Sunday. Katya and I took Maya-san to Lake Chiyoda. It was a warm day. Maya-san got into the lake and chased ducks. After a half-an-hour walk, we went back home. Katya and I drove to Togen Hall, where a concert was held by an amateur orchestra “South Alps Utopia Symphony Orchestra“. They performed Brahms, Prokofiev, and Beethoven. We listened to Symphony #5 of Beethoven for the first time in a concert hall. The members must have practiced hard. Katya and I did not have lunch. On the way back home after the concert, we dropped by “Stamina Taro“, a bufet restaurant. The quality was not high … Continue reading

Visit to Tokiwa Hotel on a Monday day off
Yesterday was Showa Day, a holiday. and happened to be Sunday. So today, Monday, we had a day off in lieu. I took Katya to Tokiwa Hotel for a buffet lunch to show the beautiful garden I saw yesterday. The same employee kindly took pictures of us in front of the hotel. Buffet was OK, but not special. The service was bad: empty plates were left on our table without being collected. Even though, the view from the window was pleasant. We took a walk after lunch in the garden. The stage of the wedding yesterday was all cleared. The hotel has an annex specially designed and … Continue reading

Another relaxing but sleepy day
I took breakfast in a restaurant in the hotel. I took a buffet. There were not many choices, but boy, weren’t they good! I was looking for a simple American breakfast with bacon and eggs and juice and coffee. I had exactly what I wanted. The bacon was crispy and rich and apparently not healthy; this is what I was looking for. Sausages were juicy, too. Then I went to join the conference at Westin. It was the sleepiest day since I came here, but with a good feeling that I do not have to talk any more. I did not take lunch, knowing that it was not needed, except … Continue reading

Back to Kofu from Tateshina
After we woke up, I headed for a hot spa, and Katya prepared for herself. We met in front of the buffet restaurant at 8:30 AM. We had to wait for several minutes. Breakfast was OK, but coffee was not very good. So we went to the hotel lounge. Katya had an espresso, and I, a cafe au lait. We checked out and went to Shimosuwa to say hello to my parents. We gave them an Apple Baumkuchen bought in the hotel. We said good-by to them and went back to Kofu. We headed for Noah Vet Clinic to pick up Maya-san. In the clinic, they have a pet hotel. … Continue reading

Warm Winter Sunday
On weekend mornings, Maya-san usually takes a walk with me. There is a place where Maya-san likes to sniff around. She never found anything, but probably, small animals, like rats, play there. Although mountains over there are covered with snow, it was a very warm day. Maya-san likes narrow streets. When she walks, she always searches something interesting. After the walk, Katya and I had breakfast at Jonathan’s in Kofu. Maya-san kept the apartment all by herself. We bought coffees and teas at Coffee Tonya. We had cups of espresso while coffees are ready to be taken out. Then, Katya and I went out for tennis. It was a perfect … Continue reading

First Ski This Season
We had a buffet breakfast. Then we checked out the hotel and went out for skiing at “Pilatus Tateshina Ski Resort“. This is our first ski this season. Katya skied down the hill only once because of the icy slope. I did four times. We came back to my parents’ to meet Maya-san. She welcomed us. I drove Smart to Kofu. Maya-san is happy on the legless chair in our apartment.
Fetch Maya-san and Go home
We woke up at 8 AM and had a buffet breakfast. We went out for snorkeling again. It was a pity that the sea was not clear enough. Although, the picture looks better than those taken yesterday, probably because the flash light did not go this time, and the reflection inside the plastic bag eventually could be avoided. We returned back to the hotel and took an onsen. The water of the onsen is from the deep ocean and it tastes salty. Then we left the hotel. At a fish shop near the port, Katya bought big seashells alive for my parents for a souvenir. Today is a national holiday, … Continue reading
