Blog restarted: Business trip to Tokyo and Mariya six months old

I have been happy but sleepy with Mariya. These days, I got used to the situation, so I restart my blog. This morning, I had a beef-bowl breakfast at Yoshinoya near Kofu Station; the price of a bowl was lowered to 280 yen because of the increase in beef imported from USA after the BSE issue. Taste was good. Then I took a train first to a company in Kanda, Tokyo, to discuss a computer simulation of the results of my project.  It seems that we will be able to write a good joint paper.  The company is now improving their own simulation program using our data.   They are planning … Continue reading →

Seminar in Shimosuwa

Katya, Mariya, Maya-san and I left our apartment for Shimosuwa at 4:30 PM. Katya drove me to Shimosuwa Production Support Center directly for my talk. She then went to my parents’, left Maya-san, and,  with Mariya, went  to see her Ukrainian friend living in Shimosuwa. In the seminar, eleven people came to listen to me, who were managers and engineers of  small industrial companies in/around Shimosuwa. They wanted to have some hints of the business in the near future. My talk started at 6:30 and ended at 8:30 PM, with many questions. It seemed that they had  understood me. Day after the stay in Honolulu

The pill made me well asleep. Luckily, the jet lag did not suffer me very much today because the stay was short. I was, although, sleepy all day because I was tired. Three companies visited me. Then, I checked e-mails to settle down the things left. I left the office at 8 PM as usual. Katya made pizzas by herself. It was fun to have her handmade pizzas. Back to normal.

Third day in Honolulu: my presentation

During the night, I prepared my presentation slides. I changed the story from what I had been thinking, so it took time. I finished the first version of my presentation at 10 AM. Then I went to Hawaii Convention Center to listen to my colleague, who was invited. Then I came back to my room, which was already cleaned. I kept working, upgrading the slides. Arriving in Keihanna, Kyoto

I left Kofu at 7 PM and arrived at Keihanna Plaza Hotel in Keihanna at midnight. I am staying in a one-bed room. I will work in Shimadzu company tomorrow with a student of mine.

Quick business trip to Ichigaya, Tokyo on Saturday

Today is Saturday. I took a bike to Kofu Station for taking a train to Tokyo; I was going to talk with a company man about a new electrical leakage breaker, which should decrease the electricity cost of the apartment in Nakaochiai. I took a train starting at 12:11 PM. I had bought a hamburger “Le Grand” at McDonald’s. ”Le Grand“　is a Frenchy hamburger based on “Le M” sold in France. I tried it on the train. Business trip to Tamachi and Okubo in Tokyo

I took “Azusa” express train to Tamachi, Tokyo; I am a member of the journal committee of a scientific society. The meeting was held in Tamachi Campus of Tokyo Institute of Technology. We talked about the schedules of the journal and future plans. The meeting ended at 5 PM. Then I moved to Okubo to meet people in an apartment managing company; the managing  company of an apartment in Myorenji does not seem to be working properly. Trip to see my ex-student in Yamagata prefecture

An ex-student of mine, to whom I tutored French when I was a university student, is now running a small company in Shinjo, Yamagata prefecture. Today, I took a break and visited his firm. I woke up at 5:30 in the morning. I went to my office to check e-mails. Then, I rode my bike to Kofu Station. I took an express “Azusa” at 7:24 AM to Tachikawa. In the train, I took a Filet-O-Fish set. I changed trains and trains and finally took a bullet train from Omiya to Shinjo.    The train once stopped at Fukushima Station, when, I confess, I felt uneasy. Lecture at Tokyo University of Science in Kagurazaka

I had breakfast in the hotel.  Akihabara was seen from the window.    I checked out, took a train, and arrived at the Kagurazaka Campus of Tokyo University of Science. I arrived at the hall 20 minutes before the lectures. There were about 100 learners mostly from companies. I was the second lecturer to make a 70-minute talk. After five lectures, there was a Q&A time.  The listeners were very dedicated and studious. All lectures ended at 5:30 PM. Lectures and hosts had a dinner together at a Japanese pub. Information meeting of the instrument

This afternoon, there was an information meeting to explain the specifications of the instrument. Several companies arrived. I was the one who explained the specifications we expect. There was no questions today. After the procedures, the company of delivery will be decided. I am busy these days and will stay in my office today.
