Jingisukan again on Typhoon Sunday
In the morning, Katya and I had breakfast at Jonathan’s. An extremely powerful typhoon, #17, is coming to Japan. It is the biggest one in years. In the afternoon, it started raining. At around 6 PM, the typhoon arrived in Toba, Mie prefecture, where we stayed in July. We had a Jingisukan BBQ again for dinner. Katya prepared a lot of vegetables this time. Last evening, Katya put four snails inside the sea-water fish tank. They look healthy. It is 9 PM, the wind got stronger.

Jingisukan BBQ dinner on Sunday
It is Sunday today. When I woke up, it was raining. I took Maya-san out for a walk in the morning. She was a good girl enough not to hesitate to walk in the rain, which is not very often. After the walk, Katya drove to Jonathan’s. I read a newspaper, while Katya an internet magazine with her iPad. Drinks in Jonathan’s are better than in Gusto, so we might be going to have Sunday breakfasts in Jonathan’s, although Gusto is in the walking distance from our apartment. Then we went to “Pet Field” to see live rocks to be put in a fish tank. We did not buy … Continue reading

Lazy Sunday on January 29, 2012
Katya, me, and Maya-san got up late this morning. I was working whole day, because of the business trip tomorrow. I need to finish some duties. In the evening, we went to Jonathan’s. While we were having dinner outside, Maya-san enjoyed a one-dog party, which she had not been holding for a while. We scolded her as a rule as usual. She stayed alone for a while. Then we are having a lazy evening. Now Nadal and Djokovic in the Australian open. Katya likes Nadal and worries whether he wins. She checks the game once in a while on the internet. We are watching Takeshi’s Castle.
Sunflowers in Akeno, Hokuto city, Yamanashi
Sunflowers in Akeno, Hokuto, Yamanashi are well-known. Today is the first day of “Sun Flower Festa“. It takes less than an hour by car, so we went there. I saw a bee gathering honey from a sunflower. It stayed on the moving flower, with its body covered with pollen. The picture might look nice, but it was just a small-sized field. Katya and I had expected something enormous and were disappointed. Maya-san was happy because she saw goats. I bought two bottles of honey there. After coming back home, Katya gave Maya-san an imitation bone to have her chew it. While Maya-san enjoying the bone, Katya and I went to … Continue reading

Electricity has been running
Yesterday and today, we enjoyed the continuous flow of electricity. Tokyo Electric Power Co. is scheduling the continuous supply till April 3; schools are in the spring vacation now. From April 4, school starts and electricity goes down. Katya went to see a Russian friend of hers in Minami Alps city and had no time to cook. We went to the Jonathan’s. There were many people as usual. Dairy foods and products were out of order. At the coffee server, there was no milk for cafe au lait or cappuccino. Yogurt was not available, either. Other than that, menus were normal. Katya was reading Mikhail Bulgakov before dinner came. Maya-san … Continue reading

Warm Winter Sunday
On weekend mornings, Maya-san usually takes a walk with me. There is a place where Maya-san likes to sniff around. She never found anything, but probably, small animals, like rats, play there. Although mountains over there are covered with snow, it was a very warm day. Maya-san likes narrow streets. When she walks, she always searches something interesting. After the walk, Katya and I had breakfast at Jonathan’s in Kofu. Maya-san kept the apartment all by herself. We bought coffees and teas at Coffee Tonya. We had cups of espresso while coffees are ready to be taken out. Then, Katya and I went out for tennis. It was a perfect … Continue reading
