Mariya’s birthday party
Mariya’s birthday was October 15, but today, Saturday, I invited my parents to have a birthday party with them . I saw my parents at Kofu station at 1 PM and took them to our apartment. I quickly went to a Chinese restaurant, Manpuku Roh, to take out dinner. The taste was OK. Then all of us went out for Takeda Shrine. A cameraman was waiting for us to take pictures of us in a small park nearby. After taking photos, I took my parents back to Kofu station. My mother will come to visit us for helping us with moving out from the apartment after my visit to … Continue reading

Mariya’s Passport
In the morning, I took the Chinese roast pork out from the pot. They seemed to be well done. For Mariya’s passport, I went to the city hall in the evening. The building was fully renewed this year. I received Mariya’s resident proof. After the city hall, I went to the prefecture passport center. The office was closing, so I only received the application forms. I went to a DIY shop, D2, to change the battery of my watch, but they only accept watches they have sold. So I drove to “Yamako Department Store” in front of Kofu Station. On the first floor, there was a small watch shop, … Continue reading

Welcome party at Monojiya
There was a welcome party of a research group in the institute. I went into a narrow side street, “Chochin Yokocho” near Kofu Station. I walked up into a building. Looks weird. We had the party at Monojiya. They made the inside old and cheap as in the 60s. The party started at 7 PM. I sneaked out at 8 PM to see Katya and Mariya.

Blog restarted: Business trip to Tokyo and Mariya six months old
I have been happy but sleepy with Mariya. These days, I got used to the situation, so I restart my blog. This morning, I had a beef-bowl breakfast at Yoshinoya near Kofu Station; the price of a bowl was lowered to 280 yen because of the increase in beef imported from USA after the BSE issue. Taste was good. Then I took a train first to a company in Kanda, Tokyo, to discuss a computer simulation of the results of my project. It seems that we will be able to write a good joint paper. The company is now improving their own simulation program using our data. They are planning … Continue reading

Presentation finished, successfully!
I stayed up all night in my office, preparing for the presentation in Tokyo scheduled today. 20-min presentation and 10-min Q&A is not long at all, but it should be counted far more seriously than the report I submitted the other day. At 7 AM, I went back home for a walk with Maya-san, while Katya was tired and sleeping with Mariya. Then I went back to the office. I made 25 copies of my PowerPoint presentation file, and left the institute at 11 AM for Kofu station. The presentation was scheduled at 3:40 PM, so leaving that early was not necessary, but I did not want to get to … Continue reading

Taking photos and dinner together
In the afternoon, I went to Kofu station to pick up my parents, who came to see Mariya and to go to the shrine with us. Very unfortunately, it started raining. The rain was not so heavy, but we did not want Mariya to get cold. So we decided not to go to the shrine. In our apartment, we dressed up Mariya white for taking pictures in the studio. Mom bought her a new kimono. A van came to our apartment, and all of us except Maya-san got it on to the studio with the new red kimono for Mariya with us. At the studio, many pictures were taken. I will … Continue reading

Kobe, Kawasaki, Shinjuku
I checked out “Sun Members Kobe” in the morning. I took breakfast at UESHIMA coffee shop located under the monorail station in Sannomiya. After taking a monorail, I arrived at the conference center at 9:30 AM. I gave a 20-minute talk from 10:20 AM and quickly left the conference hall and took a monorail back to Sannomiya. From Osaka, I took a plane back again to Haneda. There were vacant seats inside. After arriving at Haneda Airport, I moved to Kawasaki for a research report meeting of our institute. After the meeting in Kawasaki, I headed for Shinjuku this time for a real-estate meeting. After the meeting in Shinjuku, I … Continue reading

Business trip to Kobe University, Kobe
Yesterday, I went on a one-day business trip to Osaka. In the morning, I took Maya-san out for a walk, and went to Kofu station; I was going to Kobe today as I was asked to give a 20-minute talk in Kobe University tomorrow morning. This time, I took a plane using JAL miles. I charged two computers that I brought with me in a lounge in Haneda Airport. On the plane, the seat was by the left wing. It was full inside. The flight lasted for 45 min. A cup of coffee was served. A monorail stopped in front of the conference hall of Kobe University at 2 … Continue reading

Business trip to Panasonic, Osaka
I had a discussion at Panasonic in Osaka today. Before taking a train, I bought breakfast at Vie de France at Kofu station. Breads sold in Vie de France are not exactly French but close enough for the prices. I took them into the train. The train left the station at 8 AM. I needed to change trains so many times. At Shin-Yokohama station, I took a bullet train to Shin-Osaka station. At Yodoyabashi station, I took a quick lunch. Changing trains, I finally arrived at Panasonic at 2 PM. We had a two-hour discussion. Then I took all the trains back to Kofu. I arrived home at 10 … Continue reading

Mom and Dad coming to Kofu and Mariya’s spoon
Right after her birth, my parents naturally wanted to meet Mariya. Today’s Sunday and they are coming to Kofu by train. I arrived at Kofu station at 11 AM. In the department store “Eclan” by the station, I looked for something for lunch. I bought two large packs of take-out sushi at Kyodaru. There is a wine shop, and I bought a bottle of Kofu wine for my parents and one non-alcoholic for me and Katya. I left sushi and wine bottles in the car, and went to the ticket gate of the station to see my parents. There was a campaign of Aizu district in Fukushima to invite tourists. … Continue reading
